Greetings from the north.

before i bore you all with an abundance of pretty pictures, here's the numerical cliff notes version.

number of miles traveled: 1783
number of photos taken: 1209
number of times set up/took down tent in the rain: 1
number of times set up/took down tent in +45 mph winds: 2
number of times i was warned that "this is bear country": 6
number of times i was warned to lock my food up and not have any in my tent: 3
number of times i woke up in the middle of the night hearing strange noises (a bear?) from outside my tent: 26
number of times i saw a bear: 0 (lame)
number of times i said "wow/amazing/unbelievable": stopped counting after 50
number of times i was asked, "you're camping here? by yourself?": 3
number of showers i got to take: 1 (ew)
number of times i was driving and thought i was passing a cow farm or a skunk, only to realize it was really me: 2 (double ew)
number of times i fell into a river: 2
number of times lake superior waves attacked my shoes: 3
number of times i got lost driving: 13
number of times i got really lost hiking: 1 (enough for me)
number of times i thought i was going to die: 4
number of times i said, "(put your name here) would totally dig this": well over 1000

so there ya have it. plenty more to share, i'll try to do something everyday til the weekend. by then all of us will be tired of stupid trees, waterfalls and landscapes. (plus the weekend brings central/western football game!)
